【公告】IMPORTANT-IBSC Year 2023-24 First Semester Make-Up Assessment Student List and Notice

Dear parents and students of IBSC,

Please take a look at attachment 1 for students eligible for taking this semester’s make-up assessment.

  • Notice:
  1. The regulations for make-up assessments is based on IBSC’s Regulations Regarding the Assessments of Student Performance and Achievements.
  2. Among all subjects, Grade 6, 7, 8 Social Studies and Grade 6,7,8 Computer Science will use an alternative assessment as the make-up assessment. The followings are the instructions from the teacher:
    • Social Studies: Complete the lesson review questions (in the textbook) for all of the lessons covered in class the term(s) failed. Each question should have at least five complete sentences, at least two of them with relevant points from the textbook and at least two of them with relevant points from outside sources (the information from outside sources should NOT be mentioned in the textbook); outside sources should be cited with the author and location of information.
    • Computer Science:
      • 1) Complete the worksheets distributed in class and write a short (at least one complete five-sentence paragraph) reflection on each lesson for the term(s) failed.
      • 2) Make a short (4-6 minute) video of a self-created project based on the lessons (the student may be exempt if they completed this and got a passing score during the semester).
      • 3) Organize the completed handouts into the correct order in a folder for inspection  (the student may be exempt if they completed this and got a passing score during the semester).
  3. For other subjects, the make-up assessment will be in the form of paper exams. The exam will be held on Friday February 23th, during the school activity time. For students taking multiple subjects, the academic affairs section will arrange time individually for them to complete all the exams.
  4. For students plan on participating in the make-up assessment, please complete the form in attachment 3 and send it to the academic affairs section.
  5. For students who cannot participating in the exam due to personal issues, please contact the academic affairs section.
